Kkaennip Jeon
Joen is a Korean food made of whatever (vegetables/meats) that is battered and fried. There are zucchini jeon, beef jeon, pumpkin jeon, seafood jeon, chive jeon, etc. This time I make kkaennip jeon or perilla leaf jeon stuffed with tofu and pork. Making kkaennip jeon is pretty simple. Stuff and roll the perilla leaf, dip in batter, ten fry.
Stuffing recipe: Mix 1 cup of tofu, 1/4 cup of pork, 1/4 cup of chopped leek/chive, 1 tsp of minced garlic, 3/4 tsp of salt and pepper, 1 tsp of sesame oil, and a pinch of sugar.
Batter recipe: Mix 3 tbs of flour, 1/4 tsp of salt, and 8 tbs of water.
