Telang Flowers
Butterfly pea or telang is native to Southeast Asia. Although they grow wildly here, not many people are aware of their benefits. Telang flowers are widely used in Malaysia, Thailand, and Burma as food coloring. The striking blue color produced by the flowers is very eye catching. It also contains a number of medicinal properties. I like to eat the flowers fresh. They are good for tea too. Have you heard of blue tea before? With a squirt of lemon juice, the blue tea turns pinkish purple.
