Ronde
Ronde is a Javanese dessert influenced by the Chinese culture. The name comes from the Dutch word ´rondje´ which means round. Well ronde is a round ball made of glutinous rice filled with sweet fried peanut and served in spicy ginger tea. In some areas of Java, ronde is also served with bread and palm seed fruit.
Recipe:
1. mix 1 cup of white glutinous rice flour and 3 spoon of purple glutinous rice flour, a pinch of salt, and 1 tbs of sugar
2. add 1/2 cup of piping hot water to the mixture
3. mix the dough well
4. take 1 tbs of the dough, make a ball, and flat it
5. put the peanut filling (blend fried peanut, sugar, and salt) and close the dough to make a ball
6. toss the ronde balls to the boiling water
7. keep boiling it until the balls float
8. take the ronde balls and toss them in cold water
9. put some ronde balls in a bowl and serve them with the ginger soup
Ginger soup:
1. boil 1/2 cup of sliced ginger, 2 lemon grass, 1 pandan leaf in 1 liter of water for 30 minutes
2. keep boiling until half of the water evaporates, add 1/2 cup of sugar
