Mt Munara: The Trail
I woke up early and headed to Rumpin, a small region near BSD, Tangerang. My destination was Mt Munara. Mt Munara is only 1119 m above the sea level. It´s more like a hill than a mountain. After passing a long bumpy and dusty road, I reached the village on the valley of Mt Munara. I parked my car there and paid Rp 5.000 (40 cents) entrance ticket to the villager.
At first I wasn´t impressed. However when I started hiking, I thought I made the right choice to visit Mt Munara.
A 12 year old boy named Imam, the local, offered to guide me to the summit. I agreed. It was my first visit to the site, I didn´t want to get lost. Besides I liked the idea of contributing to the society whenever I go. I paid Imam Rp 50.000 ($ 4) for his service as he requested.
Imam seemed to like taking pictures. He offered o take my pictures whenever he saw a nice spot. lol
The trail wasn´t difficult for the first 200 meter or so but it got more and more challenging as I walked higher. It paid off though. The scenery was breathtaking near the summit. Magnificent huge rocks and beutiful vegetation were scattered along the trail.
The roots of big trees made beautiful curtain.
The narrow path between rocks was like a labyrinth.
