Spicy Inky Squid
This spicy inky squid dish is a special food from Banyuwangi, East Java. The locals name it pindang nus. Only small and inky squids can be cooked into this dish.
I got this recipe from my mom: 1. grill and slice 4 cloves of garlic, 3-5 chili, 6 cloves of shallot 2. fry the spices in 1 tbs of vegetable oil 3. add 1 tbs of sweet soy sauce, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1 tbs of palm sugar for seasoning
4. toss the inky squids and stir fry for 5 minutes The whole cooking process took less than 10 minutes.
I cooked this dish again yesterday but the squids were not too inky.
