Day 1: Karimun Jawa Islands
The long and unpleasant ferry ride was paid off when we set our feet on the main Karimun Island. The hospitality of our tour guide and the people in general impressed me. The guide took us to one of the villager's house to have lunch. It was an unusual experience to have lunch at people's house instead of a restaurant but the foods were yummy and we got the experience to live as locals.
The guide took us to a floating hotel called Wisma Apung. It was basically a fisherman house made of wooded planks. It was a very basic lodge but it had a beautiful coral reef view around it. At Rp. 100.000 - 200.000 per night (US$10-20), it was not bad at all.
